When a poor university student moves into a house on Rue d'Auseil, he often hears strange, otherworldly music. Making an effort to discover the source of the music, he befriends an odd old man, Erich Zann, who performs in his room at all hours of the day. But when the student receives private concerts from Zann, he begins to realize that the songs are more powerful than any music from this world.
H.P. Lovecraft’s writing served as the basis for what is now called “The Cthulhu Mythos,” a universe created by Lovecraft and subsequent writers—most famously Lovecraft’s publisher August Derleth—that centered around the horror of “The Great Old Ones.” The Cthulhu Mythos has become influential in popular culture and has inspired numerous books, comics, films, and games.
